Acting Head Shot Photography

For awhile now I have been working a 9-5 job which meant that my photography work went on the WAY back burner. Some people do not know this, but I used to have a photography business back in the day. I have always loved photography & am self taught through a lot of trial & error. It is one of my creative & passionate outlets that I do miss, so when my dear friend, Marlaina Smith, asked me to shoot some acting head shots for her, I was super excited to stretch my photography muscles again!

We literally shot for about 45 minutes & the reason this shoot was so quick & effortless was because as you can see, Marlaina is STUNNING!!! This girl has a depth in her eyes that kills me. I have no doubt that she will become a famous actress very soon! Watch out world!

I was lucky to be able to do Marlaina’s makeup as well for the shoot. The key to good makeup for head shots, is very natural & subtle. The casting agents want to see the real you without being unsure of how you really look. We did a very subtle gold eye, a peach cheek & a lip that was about three shades darker than her natural lip color. Everything was done so that her own natural beauty shone through.
